This year’s Countdown to Christmas on CountdownUntilChristmas.com is filled with cozy premieres and heartwarming stories, and A Christmas Prayer is the perfect film to kick off your Christmas movie marathon.

A Story Filled with Heart, Hope, and Holiday Faith

In A Christmas Prayer, Natalie (Shae Robins) is a children’s book illustrator facing creative burnout—until a chance encounter changes everything. When she discovers a young girl’s Christmas list, she’s surprised to find it’s not full of toys and treats but heartfelt prayers to Jesus. Caroline, the little girl, asks for blessings for her loved ones and even prays for her recently widowed father (Christopher Russell) to find happiness again.

Touched by the kindness behind these words, Natalie quietly begins fulfilling each of Caroline’s “Christmas prayers.” Along the way, she finds herself inspired to create a new storybook character, Adeline the Angel, a symbol of how Jesus works through everyday people to answer prayers with love and grace.

A True Reflection of the Season

“A Christmas Prayer is a heartfelt film about the miracles that happen when people come together for the greater good,” said Bill Abbott, President & CEO of Great American Media. “It’s rooted in faith, family, and community — the foundation of what makes Great American Christmas so special.”

The film’s message of giving, kindness, and the quiet miracles that unfold during the holidays perfectly captures the spirit of Countdown to Christmas. It’s the kind of story that reminds us why we gather, give, and celebrate this time of year.
