A New Yorker hobo moves into a mansion and along the way he gathers friends to live in the house with him. Before he knows it, he is living with the actual homeowners.

It Happened on Fifth Avenue was originally released in theaters April 19, 1947. The production schedule and Christmastime climax of the story suggest the studio planned a Christmas release, but for an unknown reason, the movie’s release was delayed until Easter 1947.

  • I love this movie and watch it every year like It’s a wonderful life, I wish when people review they would have watched instead of getting it wrong like I’ve read different sites. It’s a sweet, wonderful movie, heartwarming and sweet. I love each actor in it.
