It’s Official! Candace Cameron Bure and Cameron Mathison Reunite in “Home Sweet Christmas Wedding”

It’s the Christmas sequel we’ve all been wishing for — and it’s really happening! Candace Cameron Bure and Cameron Mathison are stepping back into their beloved roles as Sophie and Sam in Home Sweet Christmas Wedding (working title), the follow-up to the 2024 holiday favorite Home Sweet Christmas. Production is officially underway, and the new movie is set to premiere as part of the Great American Christmas 2025 celebration on Great American Family and Pure Flix.

According to Great American Media, this sequel is all about love, second chances, and the joy of storytelling. President & CEO Bill Abbott shared that Sophie and Sam’s next chapter feels “fresh and nostalgic” — and we couldn’t agree more!

In Home Sweet Christmas Wedding, the snow is falling once again in Waynesbridge, Washington. But this time, Sophie and Sam’s love story is being turned into an actual movie. As the cameras roll, real life starts to get complicated. Between wedding delays, behind-the-scenes drama, and the pressure of turning their story into a film, this Christmas is shaping up to be anything but picture-perfect. Can Sam and Sophie rediscover the spark that brought them together — or will this “movie moment” threaten the real happily-ever-after they’ve been building?

In Case You Missed the Original

Home Sweet Christmas (2024) introduced us to Sophie Marlow, a big-time lawyer who returned to her cozy hometown after inheriting most of her great uncle’s maple farm. There, she reconnected with Sam, her childhood friend — and partial co-owner of the property. What began as a shared responsibility blossomed into a romantic rediscovery that warmed the hearts of Christmas movie fans everywhere.

Back Together On Screen (and Behind the Scenes!)

“It’s such a joy to reunite with my good friend and co-star, Cameron Mathison, to share the next chapter of Sam and Sophie’s epic love story,” said Bure, who also serves as CEO of CandyRock Entertainment and Chief Creative Officer at Great American Media. She added, “This time we’re excited to bring our fans into the movie and into the biggest moment in Sam and Sophie’s lives.”

The film is being produced by Syrup Studios in association with CandyRock Entertainment. Directed by Paula Elle, the original screenplay was written by Robin Dunne and Arcade Riley. It’s packed with talent behind the scenes too, including executive producers Candace Cameron Bure, Jeffery Brooks, Ford Englerth, Holly A. Hines, and more.

When to Watch
