Meet Me in St. Louis (1944)
Meet Me in St. Louis
In the year before the 1904 St Louis World’s Fair, the four Smith daughters learn lessons of life and love, even as they prepare for a reluctant move to New York. Judy Garland debuted “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” which became a hit after the film was released. Meet Me in St. Louis was originally released in theaters November 22, 1944.
A lawyer’s (Leon Ames) family (Judy Garland, Margaret O’Brien) attends the 1904 World’s Fair. This movie normally airs throughout the holiday season on Turner Classic Movies (TCM). For a complete schedule of dates and times, view the TCM Christmas Classics schedule.
I consider this a true Christmas classic and aim to watch it every Christmas season.
