The Story
Military widow Vanessa Mayfield has spent years looking for her family’s Christmas ring, a gold and ruby heirloom her great-grandfather found in Normandy on D-Day and handed down through the generations before it slipped away from her. The search leads her to Ben Miller, a widowed antiques dealer who understands that kind of loss, and the friendship between them slowly turns into a second chance neither one was looking for.
Then comes the twist. Ben’s father and business partner, Howard Miller, buys a box of antiques that happens to contain Vanessa’s missing ring, has no idea what it means to her, and plans to sell it. When Ben realizes what his father is about to let go, he races to get it back, and it all lands right as Vanessa is preparing for her annual military Christmas dance and the return of her college-age daughter, Sadie, who does not yet know Ben exists.

What Sets This One Apart
Nearly one hundred retired and active military members appear in the film as background actors, all of them answering Karen Kingsbury’s call to honor those who have served. One of them, James Daniels, was a World War II veteran who has since passed away.
The movie is adapted from Kingsbury’s 2025 novel of the same name, which has sold more than 100,000 copies. Kingsbury co-wrote the screenplay with Tyler Russell, who also directs, and she is an executive producer on the film.
