I agree, White Christmas and Holiday Inn are my favorites. What we oldsters need to realize is that young people don’t have the affection or even interest in these classics the way we do, because they may not have grown up with the stars or the music. My recommendation to everyone is to BUY the movies on DVD while they’re still available. Don’t believe the hype that “DVD’s are dead” Then when the young people are in charge and run the networks and studios, you will have your favorites forever. Because very soon they won’t be available because we oldsters are disappearing and are becoming a smaller demographic that no one cares about.
I agree. White Christmas is a wonderful movie. My favourite though is “Holiday Inn”. My Dad & I watched that movie together so many times, I’ve lost count. For those of you out there who don’t know., the song “White Christmas” was intended for Holiday Inn. The song in Holiday Inn called “Let’s Start the New Year Right” was to hopefully be a hit. A disc jockey at one of the radio stations decided to play
the flip-side of “Let’s Start the New Year Right”…you guessed it..the song on the flip-side was “White Christmas”. It became an instant hit!!!., & has sold millions of copies. Its’ not just gold, it’s platinum!
Yes, it holds the most copies sold in the world!
So, yes…”White Christmas” is a wonderful movie, but so is “Holiday Inn”
White Christmas is in Spanish on my TV even though my set it programmed for English.
Why is this happening?
